Diffrence between IIT vs NIT vs IIIT?
Hello Student!
Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) are all technical institutes providing B.Tech,M.Tech and Phd courses in engineering.
All these institutes are accredited with "Institutes of Eminence" (IoE) tag due to their quality of teaching and research and job prospects its students are offered on completion of courses.
IIITs (Triple I-Ts) are institutes focusing mainly on computer and information technology area wheres IITs and NITs have focus on all engineering subjects.
All institutes are autonomous and admission in NITs and IIITs is through JEE Main while in IITs admission is through JEE Advanced.
The only difference lies in governments funding which is more in IITs and comparatively less in IIITs and NITs.
The quality of teaching and research is also similar.
