Yes an ECE branch engineer graduate can appear railway recruitment exam and get job in government sector. There is no restriction for it. Exam has questions from aptitude, logical and verbal reasoning and analytics. General knowledge.

This is same as for any written round of any recruitment process so for candidates who didn't get job option in MNCs can look out for government job options and having mostly same syllabus helps out.

On the other part, ECE is one of te demanding branch for BTech after CSE which is very hard to get even in private institute who has good recognition.

So studying 4 years of ECE , somehow makes the Candidates ready for market as the Doman have streams like robotics , embedded systems , VLSi which are interesting concepts.
