Hello,
Those students who have done diploma then he/she is not eligible to appear for jee mains and hence can't give this exam..You must have to be in 12th or passed 12th to appear for jee mains...and jee mains gives admission into 1st year btech....while you have to get admission through lateral entry i.e directly into the 2nd year. So try to find out those colleges which accepts lateral entry.
