Hi I recently gave my neet and now my neet counselling process is going on. I have by mistakenly selected the ews category but I don't fall in this category and now in the documents section the ews certificate is asked what should I do now??? Will I be disqualified??? In place of that what should I upload now??
If you’ve mistakenly selected the EWS category but don’t actually belong to it, don’t worry you won’t be disqualified just for that. During the document verification process, your category will be treated as General if you don’t upload a valid EWS certificate. So instead of uploading any wrong or fake document, just leave that section blank or upload a declaration saying you don’t belong to EWS. In most cases, your application will simply be shifted to General category and you’ll still be eligible for counselling under that. Just make sure you’re honest and don’t upload any false certificate.
Hey Jyoti:)
Thanks for reaching out!
If you have mistakenly selected the EWS category but you don't actually belong to it or have a valid EWS certificate, don't worry you'll not be disqualified just for this mistake. Most admission authorities will simply consider your application under the unreserved category(general)or correct category if you upload the valid certificate and they allow category correction. If you actually belong to a different category you should upload your valid category like(OBC/ST/SC) certificate along with a self-declaration letter or affidavit explaining that you mistakenly selected EWS,you don't belong to this category and you request to be considered under your actual category. you csn upload this in the EWS certificate section since the system won't allow you to leave it blank.some institutions may accept a simple signed declaration pdf while others may ask for affidavit on stamp paper. I f correction is not allowed, then your application will likely be treated under general category but you'll not be disqualified as long as you're truthful and don't submit any fake documents .This kind of issue doesn't lead to disqualification if handled properly.
Hope this resolves your query!
