Hi aspirant,
Through Counselling you can only get admission into College but cannot get Placement through counselling. To get Campus placement you must be atleast in final year or pre-final year of course mostly. Might get before that also.
You need to have good percentage, academic performance, communication skills, etc to get good Placement opportunity. You can get Off Campus placement or In-Campus placement opportunity.
