Which University is better it all depends upon the prospect of university/college that you are looking forward to like the curriculum and study, recruitment, placement rate, campus infrastructure and life.

I would say Lovely Professional University is best for pursuing B.Tech in Biotechnology.If you re looking for quality education,good placements,exposure,academics then LPU is right place,it has all.I am saying this because one of my known is pursuing same course from LPU and her experience is amazing.

She told me Faculty members works hard tirelessly in enabling students with the acumen to apply the findings of Bio sciences in the fields of medicine, forensics, nutrition and dietetics for the benefit of the community.

LPU School of Bioengineering and Biosciences is equipped with state-of-the-art Bioprocess Engineering and Bioscience labs and believes in imparting knowledge to students through a practical approach to achieve mastery in plant and animal physiology.

Few points told by my known who did her studies from LPU that will help you to make your decision:

The course offers specializations in Dairy Technology, Fermentation Technology and Bioinformatics.The curriculum offers prime focus on fundamental and applied aspects of biotechnology.

Students can get a foreign degree through international collaborations (2 year in India and 2 years abroad or 2 year in India and 1 year abroad)

In addition to core curricula, course offers subjects like communication and soft skills to enhance personality and employability. She said,specializations may be offered in Dairy Technology or Fermentation Technology or Molecular Biotechnology (subject to minimum number of students and feasibility)

First of all, VIT Vellore campus is a well-built campus with an excellent infrastructure. So, if you are really interested in any of the courses offered by the college, you can go for it without a second thought.

And if you want to know various details about the course and then decide, here are some of the useful details of Biotech branch in VIT Vellore campus.

Infrastructure: VIT is one of the best colleges in India and it never compromises in the aspect of infrastructure. Especially for Biotech branch, the labs are equipped with the latest instruments and apparatus like Spectroscopy, NMR, X-ray Crystallography and all other high ended research instruments.

Faculty: The core faculty will be always good and about the other faculty there is no guarantee. But most of the faculty encourage self-study rather than teaching.

Placements: The on-campus placements in core companies are not as good as expected this year. But there will always be a minimum guarantee placement for every student at least in any of the IT companies. And the certificate of VIT helps you acquire off-campus placements also.

Some other points: The campus is a bit crowded. So, you can choose VIT Chennai as an alternative. You need not worry about the placements as both the campuses conduct placements simultaneously on Vellore campus itself. But you have to compromise a little in terms of infrastructure.

VIT VELLORE is one of the best private engineering colleges in India.

Biotechnology branch in VIT Vellore is one of the best in India.If you want a good placement with high pay package then you should not choose it because most of Bio. Tech graduates are placed in IT Companies like TCS, Infosys.

And your lab skills don't help a lot in placements but if you are eager for knowledge then you should choose the course . There are lot of scope to carry out projects and research work. And got plenty of USA internships and Phd in USA.

However Biotechnology Department had these facilities:

• The labs are well equipped.
• The faculty is knowledgable and lab assistants are professional in their work.
• There is lot of scope for research.
• You can get into enviromental section of non-core companies which offery pay higher than IT.
• Phd from USA colleges and Universities

So if you want to gain knowledge and pursue career in Research ,this is best option for you.

The course mentioned above in the VIT is fairly good and you have the chances of getting placed with this course in VIT. BTech in BT is full time course of duration 4 years of total fees of 6.92 lakhs. Infrastructure at VIT is the best epecially for Bio tech. and you will have all the technical requirements fulfilled by VIT. The average package for the BT is around 3-4 lakhs and the highest packeg offered at VIT was 11-12 lakhs per year. You will have the separate building for the department and you will enoy the learning. If you leran the subject properly then I suggest you that VIT is the best place where you can get the complete knowledge of your subject. The faculties at VIT are also good, friendly and experienced. In this branch you will be having lots of chances with the research work and projects.

Hello Murali,VIT Vellore institute is one of the renowned institute.They have good faculty,crowd and campus life.The infrastructure here is something that is Highly appreciated.Talking about the most important thing that is placements so coming to core companies you can get a package around 3.5 to 4 Lakhs.Opportunities are much higher if you go for non-core companies.I would give overall 4.1/5 rating.

VIT has one of the best biotechnology courses in India. If you are looking for an answer based on placements point of view, most of the people would opt for IT jobs as there are rare jobs related to the course in India. Out of the placements, VIT would be the right place for you to learn and explore the subject as it has good faculty to guide you. You have plenty of chances to do foriegn internships and slot of research can be done out of India.

Companies like TCS, Accenture, Wipro have hundreds of applicants, people in single digits are only being selected for the interview. If you're looking through a placement point of view, biotechnology is not your cup of tea.

Conclusion: VIT has one of the finest faculties and surroundings to study biotechnology.

Hello murali, hope you are doing well! the campus Is very good! the placements , infrastructure and faculty is very good! All the necessary equipment are there in the campus..the hiighest package was around 11-12 LPA.. they are having the top infrastructure and listed as the top 3 colleges in India for having good infrastructure!
