Hi. I did my Graduation (B.Com) and Post-Graduation (MBA) from Lovely Professional University so I believe i can tell you all the details. Frankly telling you, I was bit confused when I had to select a university for my graduation and one of my cousin told me about the LPU. I had certain doubts but after visiting LPU first time for counseling, all my doubts were cleared and I took the decision to join LPU. LPU has transformed me in many ways. And its not me only, if you ask any student of LPU you will get the same answer. To start with, if I talk about faculty of LPU, quite young and energetic faculty always ready to help students, listen to the students for any problem and teaches in very innovative ways. Curriculum is always updated as per industry demands. Every student is expected to give presentations through case study or group discussions. So actually students get more confidence and their analytical ability is developed. For me it was a very positive point that LPU is very much concerned about attendance and students need to attend all their classes. As I was a regular student so I enjoyed attending my all classes. If teacher go on leave then it was ensured that there will be no loss for the students so there will be make up class or adjustment classes. As classes are Air conditioned so we enjoyed a lot. Teachers are teaching through power point so sometimes when we were asked to give presentation so we also made PPTs and now I am expert in making PPTs. All thanks to my teachers. I was an introvert person but after joining LPU, i have been transformed to more confident girl.

Coming to the Infrastructure of LPU, I must say it is the best. We were having few classes in Lecture halls of LPU and it was an amazing feeling. Tuck shop was there in our building only. Library was my favorite place to spend time during free lectures. Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium is the world class having huge capacity. All the major events happened there. I was a day scholar so I did not get the chance to stay in hostel but my friends told me many times that hostel life is amazing although rules are strict for attendance, leaves and turnstiles are there for entry and exit from hostel.

During my Graduation I got myself registered for placements and the inputs I got for placements were just amazing. We had PEP classes, Group Discussions, Mock Interviews, Company/Industry specific sessions. I got job offer from two prestigious companies. But my father guided me to go for higher studies and then dropped the idea of job and applied for MBA in LPU. And Trust me I had taken the best decision of my life.

One other important factor to take admission in LPU was its Ranking and Accreditations. Mittal School of Business is ACBSP accredited and if I will plan to settle abroad it is actually going to help me a lot. I always feel proud to be Alumni of LPU. LPU is a best private university of India.

Can honestly say, the best thing is the student’s accommodation. All the hostels are well built with all facilities and managed security. Campus security is hi-tech along with 5000+ CCTV cameras which are 24*7 monitored by the guards for our safety.

There are diverse options from shopping to dining to sweets to coffee shops all facilities are available within the campus. The university has its own 8 storey shopping mall which has every possible store which a student needs for his convenience including CCD, in-house bowling complex, food kiosks, a hospital and many more. Gym and swimming pool option is also available to students.

4) PEP classes - PEP classes start right away from the first semester itself in form of Communication Skills and continue till the final semester that prepare you for placement drives.

5) Innovative and productive environment, more emphasize on practical sessions with the benefit of having ragging free campus.

6) You will get an online system i.e UMS ( university management system), in which you can access all the details like your time table, fee status, attendance and result record, exam, schedules and many more.

7) Security measures for girls - If you’re a girl and decide to reside in hostel. Then you’ll have to mark you attendance daily in hostel to the floor warden and be in hostel within the entry timings. 6:00-6:30 is winters timing and in summers upto 07:30 probably. So if you don’t enter into hostel till that time. You are gonna have to face the warden for explanation and may be a call to your parents. That’s a bit harsh. While girls may not like this but I’m sure their parents would surely do. But if you wanna live freely. There are plenty of PG’s near University. Now decide what’s best for you. But you’ll be super safe inside the hostels than in PG’s that’s for sure. You can go to library from 08:00 PM to 12:00 AM. But will be accompanied with a guard from you hostel to library.Hospital, Mall, indoor stadium is also available inside the university campus.

8) LPU is having experienced, specialized and well qualified faculty members. 70+ faculty / staff members have been from foreign countries, faculty from IIT, IIM and IIIT as we are concerned about the betterment of the students and long term growth of our University. At present there are around 70 faculty members from IIT, IIMs, IIITs etc.

9)Tons of events - May it be Cultural, Sports or Academic. There are numerous events held in the University campus itself. The University excel in all the streams, be it academics, sports or cultural events. Apart from academics and sports activities, lots of events like Coke Studio, Youthvibe, One India & One World, and Technical events are organised every year where the students can showcase their talents. So, if you want to enjoy your college life then LPU is right place for you.

Talking about PLACEMENTS which is major concern for most of the students. LPU has good placement in terms of quantity. In recent years, LPU has set a record of placing 600 students (recruited by Cognizant)in a single day which is highest among North Indian Colleges. Generally, LPU relies on mass recruiter companies as Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, TCS etc for their placements. This is the reason for their 80% placement. Those who are pursuing BTech in Mechanical or Civil , are really having hard times because the core companies does not visit the campus and at the end of the day they are placed in some sales companies. Average package is just 3 or 3.5 lakh. Even then its worth joining because if you are really capable, then you can easily get higher package as more than 150 companies every year visits the campus. This year 9 students of CSE /IT received package of 9 Lakh by VMware. This was the highest package offered in BTech i guess, though am not 100% sure as i have not updated myself. In my batch (MBA,2016) highest package was 7 lakh received by 5 students though the average package was 3 lakh. So, if you are a deserving student then you may get higher package. Another reason for joining LPU is the scholarship provided by the college lowers the investment as compared to other deemed universities.

At the end, I would suggest you not to get attracted by the advertised placement records of any college because they are never going to share the true data. So, Know your worth and what you deserve.
