How should one prepare for UGC NET for English subject?

To prepare for UGC NET English paper, initially, you will have to know the paper pattern and Syllabus.

Here are some details about the paper pattern:

No. of papers - 2 (II and III)

• Paper II (History paper) - 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MSCs) of 100 marks
• Paper III (British Literature from Chaucer to current day + Criticism and Literary Theory) - Part A with 10 short essay type questions of 16 marks each and Part B where candidates have to answer one essay type question (optional) of 40 marks.Total marks - 200.

The entire syllabus can be found in the official website of UGC NET.  Do not leave out any topic in the syllabus and for parts that you find difficult, contact teachers and experts.  Group study, practice of sample papers and previous years question papers are other useful tools to ace the exam.
