UGC NET application forms are out and closes by 5th April. The exam is scheduled on 8th July. As you know its a national level entrance test which will make you eligible for lecturership and research if you get the JRF cut off.

This year there will be two papers. Paper 1 is the general paper where u must cover Research, polity,ICT, Logical reasoning, data interpretation. These are a bit tricky in the sense that questions can come from any area. Be well prepared in these topics alongwith the others. You can buy a guide book preferably Arihant for this purpose, practice is the key. The second paper would be your subject and I do not know what your subject is. Nevertheless, be well read in it because questions are framed from in depth knowledge. You should analyse the past years papers also to get a better hang.

Lastly, you must manage your time well and attempt questions smartly during the exam.

As we all know that the difficulty level of UGC NET 2018 is very high. To get sure shot success in this exam, you must be highly passionate and dedicated towards your studies.

· Gain familiarity with UGC NET Syllabus 2018. Do not skip any topic.

· Start the preparation with Paper-1 syllabus because it is simpler than the Paper – 2. You must finish it as soon as you can.

· Refer good books to prepare well for the exam.

· Make short notes for last time revision.

· Manage time properly. Give time to the topics according to their importance level.

· Solve previous years question papers and practice online mock test papers.

· Be positive, be hopeful and be confident.

Rini, it would be nice if you could tell me for which particular entrance exam you want to appear in the UGC NET entrance exam.

The first step is to go through the syllabus and past years question papers. Study from the good books and prepare notes. UGC NET exam is normally based on your graduation and post graduation level entrance exam. Be very through with the complete syllabus of UG and PG.  Once you have finished completing the syllabus, keep at least one month for taking mock tests so that you can time yourself.

At the same time make sure that you make short notes as they prove beneficial at the time of last minute revision.
