- get some work experience as a data analyst
- sharpen your skills with an online course or bootcamp.

Yes, maths is an essential subject. But actually in practice, you'll not really require maths, you just need knowledge to use computer languages and other tools. You will need maths for sure but not in depth , even if you know less of it, you can learn the amount of maths that is required in th meanwhile.
