How to control emotions please

Not many of us are aware of the fact that what we think is what constitutes our emotions, so if you're feeling any negative emotions, you have to check what kinds of thoughts are going on in your mind, most of the times what we think don't even have a basis on reality, for instance if we face any kind of failure in any task or exam, so it's better to anaylze what went wrong, work upon those areas to improve self, but in phases like this many of us experience self-doubts, lack of belief in self, so this entire negative thinking brings an altogether different picture in our mind, and unless we make sincere efforts to come out of this loophole, we cannot move on to some other task, leave alone succeeding in it, you can try meditation and yoga, it'll help you bring stability in mind, also try to remain connected with your self, be conscious of your thoughts, whatever we think negative or positive, it just becomes a continuous process, and be mindful of where you're focusing your energy, you need to question yourself is the task at all productive for you, if not, then divert your energy to something that will help you grow and improve you in every which way.
