There isa hostel facility in Delhi University and a lot of students live in pig's too around the Delhi university area.
it is not difficult to adjust to Delhi life as it is so vibrant and the people are also very helpful. You can in the first few days find people who are from the same area as you are or those who want to take a pg or a hostel and then take pg or hostel with them .The university areas are generally very safe.
