Hello Dear Student,
Yes, you can appear for JEE Main on the basis of your diploma qualification , but your eligibility for admission will depend on the specific rules applicable in that year.
In your case:
- You passed Class 12 in 2023 .
- You appeared for JEE Main in 2024 .
- You joined a 3-year Diploma course and are now in the final year.
For JEE Main, a recognized 3-year diploma is considered an eligible qualifying examination . Diploma holders are allowed to register for and appear in JEE Main.
However, when determining eligibility, authorities generally consider the qualifying examination you are using for admission. Since you will have completed a recognized diploma, you can use the diploma qualification for JEE Main eligibility rather than being restricted only by your 2023 Class 12 pass year. Diploma holders are specifically recognized as eligible candidates for JEE Main.
One important point: rules for admission to NITs, IIITs, IITs, and other institutes can differ from the rules for merely appearing in JEE Main. The official NTA/JoSAA brochure of the year in which you apply should always be checked before registration.
Hope it helps!
