JEE Advanced 2019 Eligibility Criteria
The admission authorities decide the various criteria on which the eligibility is based. There are five criteria that the candidates will have to fulfil to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2019.
Criterion 1- Performance in JEE Main 2019
- Candidates appearing for JEE Advanced 2019 must qualify JEE Main 2019 and secure a position among the top 2,24,000 candidates (including all categories).
- The percentages of various categories are: OBC-NCL (27%), SC (15%), ST (7.5%) and Open Category (50.5%). Within each of these categories, 5% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates.
- The order which will be followed while selecting the top 2,24,000 candidates in various categories is given below in the table.
Criterion 2- Age Limit:
- As per the recent order by Supreme Court, candidates of 25 years or older can also apply for JEE Advanced 2019. However, the admissions of such candidates will be provisional until the final outcome.
- Until last year, candidates of more than 25 years were not eligible.
Criterion 3-Number of attempts:
- A candidate gets a maximum of two attempts in consecutive years to appear for JEE Advanced.
- Candidates should not have appeared for JEE Advanced 2017 or earlier.
Criterion 4- Appearance in Class XII or equivalent examination:
- The candidates applying for JEE Advanced 2019 should have appeared in Class 12 in 2018 or 2019 for the first time.
- In case the examination board declares the result of 10+2 for the academic session 2016-17 after June 2017, then the candidate passing from that board will also be eligible to apply.
Criterion 5 – Earlier admission at IITs:
- The candidates should not have been admitted in any IIT irrespective of whether he/she continued in the programme or not
- The candidate should not have accepted the seat at any of the IITs in the past by reporting at the reporting centre
- Those candidates whose admissions at IITs were cancelled in the past do not fulfil the eligibility criteria of JEE Advanced 2019
- The candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any IIT for the first time in 2018 will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2019
- The admission authorities will allow the candidates to appear for the exam who paid the seat acceptance fee but did not accept the seats by not reporting at the reporting centres during JoSAA 2018.
You have not mentioned any of your personal details whether you sat for JEE MAINS or not and if you sat what is your marks in jee mains. You have mentioned nothing. Even you have not mentioned your 12standard marks. So it cannot be told whether you are eligible for JEE Advanced or not.
