I got rank 3279 in merit list. what's the cutoff rank in KJ Somaiya for mba & in which round(out of 4 rounds) ? What's the last year statistics for mba counselling rounds rankwise? also should i opt for hostel if selected -Y/N ?

Congrats on your rank. As we all know KJ Somaiya Institute of management is one of the premier institute of India, located in the heart of Mumbai city.

Getting in itself is a big achievement and for that one needs to give entrance exams like CMAT, CAT, XAT, GMAT. then you are shortlisted upon the scores and are called for GD and PI after that the ranks are assigned.

The courses that KJSIM offers are MBA, MBA IB, MBA FS, MBA RM, MBA IMC, MBA HR, MBA HCM.

As you get ranks, a candidate has to arrange the preferences as in the courses the candidate is interested in. For eg the first preference can be MBA and then MBA IB as per your interest.

As per your rank the waiting list will move with subsequent lists and once the waiting list on your portal reaches your rank, the you will be offered that particular course.

As per my knowledge and last year stats you may be offered courses like HCM or HR after the 4th list via mail or phone call but you wont be offered in the 4 lists mentioned by the institution.

About the hostel, It is completely upon you, as the hostel is not compulsory and if you are from Mumbai you can travel from where you stay or else you can take a PG outside the campus in nearby locations

but In my opinion you can opt for hostel.
