I got vit 20k and manipal 10k Can i get cse and which college should i join for good education in cse?

This is a very common confusion among lot of the students.

With 20k rank in vit you may get CSE in 3 or 4 cateory however this fee is equal to first category fee in Manipal. Manipal is too expensive.

Which college should you choose?

Let me just write it down briefly.

1)Any college you choose for your UG out of the 2 mentioned above in the question, its all about what you learn BY YOURSELF and this is what is going to make a difference and you can trust me on this. Do not expect the professors to behave like your personal tutors which obviously they aren’t but you might be really lucky to find some good ones who will really guide you for better. No one is going to help you unless you ask for it and at times even when you ask no one really would bother much and this is simply because these colleges have a huge student population especially VIT(1k+ students for CSE) so yes do get your facts right beforehand.

2)If you're in CSE and a VITIAN then you're definitely exposed to so many opportunities and you do get placed as VIT does brag about around 95 per cent placements and yes for CSE this is true and I can give this in writing. For the placement point of view choose the main campus without a second thought. People in the other campuses like ones in Chennai have to travel every time a company comes to Vellore except for the mass companies which do come to Chennai campus also. (If you are coming from Chennai to Vellore and stay in the hostels trust me it's horrible like you can ask people around if you don't trust me with this)

3)Getting a seat in VIT(Category 3,4,5) is expensive but getting a normal seat in Manipal is equally expensive and so its always better to choose the stream you want and then according to select the college which offers you your desired stream and at what cost. (Hope you get what I just said here).

4)Because of the freedom offered at Manipal, the student clubs and departments are more than at VIT and offer more exposure. Also, the college fests are better at Manipal.

5)IT and CSE are almost equivalent branches with similar curriculum and placements. So effectively the branch shouldn’t make a difference to you since both are great branches.

6)The ranking of VIT and Manipal are similar. VIT has a higher NIRF ranking and Manipal has a higher QS Worl Ranking.
