I have appeared for CLAT 3 year llb course, I scored 93 marks open category, are there any chances of getting into GLC, Mumbai?
Dear Riddhi Bhosale,
It seems you’re confused between the two examinations – CLAT and MH CET LLB. Let me first clear that out, before I answer your query.
You said that you appeared for CLAT which is also known as Common Law Admission Test. It’s the most sought after law entrance examination for admissions to five-year integrated law programmes in the 20 NLUs including three in Maharashtra, located at Mumbai, Nagpur and Aurangabad, respectively. Further the test is also held for admissions to postgraduate law programmes on offer in various NLUs. However, CLAT is not the admission test for LLB programmes. Therefore, there is no possibility that you appeared CLAT for LLB admissions.
Now, in the second part of your query, you mention GLC Mumbai. For this particular college, you need to appear in MH CET LLB, which is obviously an entrance test conducted by Directorate of Higher Education Maharashtra for admissions to state law colleges offering three-year LLB programmes.
I hope with this there is no further confusion remaining that you had appeared for MH CET LLB and not CLAT. Now, let’s move to answering your query.
If you have heard about Government Law College Mumbai (GLC), then you might also be knowing that several LLB aspirants like you, too know about this college. Therefore, it’s clear that they too must be aiming for GLC Mumbai.
So, too many competitors for a few seats on offer by the GLC, which eventually sets to increase the cutoff.
On a finishing note, with 93 marks that too in Open Category, there is no chances even in the mock round to get a seat in GLC Mumbai. However, don’t dishearten yourself as there are various other law colleges in the state, where you can pursue your LLB programme through MH CET LLB.
Hope with this, every doubt gets cleared. In case, there is still something remaining, with which I can help you out, feel free to counter-question me.
Till then, keep asking questions. It’s the best to know something ‘new’. All you need to do is just ask!
All the best!
Thank you.
