Dear Aspirant,
CSIR NET 2020 is going to take place in June on the 21st and I am glad to hear that you are planning to take in the future as it is an excellent option for those who want a career in research. This exam can lead you to a dream of being a lecturer and later a researcher in the field of science, so pay attention to these tips closely!
- Go through the complete syllabus of CSIR NET for the year you are applying in and review the best books for studying according to the course and assess whether you would prefer self-study or would need help from a tutor and decide upon it. This will enable you to start planning and preparing as early as possible.
- Understand the pattern of the exam and the cutoffs required and set your score and make your time table accordingly.
- I would recommend that you study 5 hours a day with an hour of revision for this examination.
- Start with the important topics and revise before switching to the other.
- Take adequate breaks and for better preparation, try to assess your style of learning as right now you have the time to experiment. Test if you learn better visually, kinaesthetically, by reading/writing or through audio and prepare your study aids in the same way. For instance, you are an auditory learner, then record your revision notes and listen to them. A combined technique can be reading, making notes by recording and revising by writing if you like to use many aids at once.
- Go through previous year question papers and solve them to track your progress and understand your strengths and weaknesses. Also, check which topics appear more than others so that you are prepared for them.
- Do not cram- understand the method and the meaning and try to perform them if possible for better understanding.
Hope this helps. All the best!
