Number of attempts that an individual has for appearing in JEE Mains is 3 attempts.
As per JEE Main Eligibility Criteria-
JEE Main candidates can avail 3 attempts for the national level undergraduate engineering entrance exam.

Since inorder to write the JEE MAINS examination totally you will get 3 attempts and for JEE Advance 2 attempts. In your case since if you are in 1st year then you have 2 more chances is left to write the JEE MAINS examination and 1 chance left for JEE Advance. So better try to do this time well and Hope for the best.
