Hello Ahmed,
With 656 marks and an All India Rank (AIR) of 24,350 in NEET 2024, you have a good chance of securing a seat in a government medical college. However, securing a seat in Delhi or Uttar Pradesh depends on several factors, such as your category, state quota, and the number of available seats.
-
Delhi: The cutoffs for government medical colleges in Delhi, like Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Lady Hardinge Medical College, and others, are typically very high. For the general category, the required rank is usually much lower, and the competition is fierce. With your rank, it may be challenging to get a seat in Delhi under the general category, but if you belong to a reserved category, your chances increase.
Uttar Pradesh: UP has a higher number of medical colleges and seats compared to Delhi, so you stand a better chance of securing a seat in government medical colleges through the state quota. Colleges like King George’s Medical University (KGMU) and GSVM Medical College have high cutoffs, but you may have a chance in other government colleges, especially if you fall under a reserved category (OBC, SC, etc.).
It is advisable to participate in both the All India Quota (AIQ) counseling and the state quota counseling for the best chances of securing a government medical seat.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.
