Is AICTE approval essential for colleges to be recognised within or outside of India?

AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) is an advisory body which plays a very important role in the development of technical education throughout the country. M any students aspire to go overseas for work or further studies. Your degree is considered to be valid only if your college is AICTE approved. If not, you are not eligible for an overseas job or education.

Thank you for your response. I see lot of universities approved by UGC which offer B tech courses, Example: Ramaiah University, PES University, etc?
Why would someone take up courses in such colleges? Does Indian government approve or Authorize for any government jobs?

Also, IITs are approved by UGC and believe, not by AICTE
We cannot vouch for someone else's decision. Everyone is entitled to his or her choice. Govt. of India or any State Govt. doesnt promise govt. jobs based on the institute you join. At the end of the day, its your eligibility and qualification that can secure you a job either a govt. one or a private one.
