No, Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) is not a deemed university. It is a private engineering college affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, and approved by AICTE. It is different from Galgotias University, which is a separate state private university established under the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature.

It is full-fledged private university established by Uttar Pradesh Legislative Act.
