Is IEM, kolkata good enough for mba ?

Cognizant,Infosys,Wipro,Ericson,Capgemini, Acclaris and Sankalp Semiconductors.
The salary range was 3 to 5 lpa. Many students went for MS, MBA, MTech, after getting placed or after working for 2 to 3 years.
Then the batch size increased and the multiple offers stopped. It makes sense that way, One IT Company is very like another IT Company.
Then, IEM expanded even more and yes, placements doesn't get wrapped up in two days like it used to happen when we graduated.
But still 100% people get placed and the salaries are at par, with industry standards.
Every student who gets admission in IEM will graduate with a job, that's the promise and the college till date , has delivered it. Students are bright, at least 60% of them are. For those into robotics, coding, music, photography and other cool stuff, you will have people interested in them...you have to search a bit.
But the overall atmosphere gets you into contact with some bright minds, inspiring profs and many go for higher studies. Being placed is something no-one worries about, except maybe when the companies come hiring. The rest of the time, one can cultivate one's hobbies or study for entrances.
you believe decides your future and is the only motivation you will ever study. See things practically, This is an University in its very much new but with an administration experienced with years of handling and teaching students. Though we know that IEM and UEM will be having Joint Placements, We know the IEM students getting placed have a higher chance of being higher in numbers than the number of UEMK students getting placed because over the years, IEM has developed a brand of its own.

This is not IEM.Yes Remember that clearly, We are not IEM. We do not want to be IEM. We are an University, WE want to make a name for ourselves 10 years down the line. And out of all these students in UEM 1st batch, you will not see even one person sayingBhai IEM e porlei bhalo hoto(Bro, It wouldve been better if i could study at IEM). Not even a single one.
For a comparison,IEM is IEM not for the students who come in IEM but for the students who graduate from IEM, the transition they face in those 4 years is what We UEM students will also be facing in these 4 years. It is the Administration who knows how to deal with the students. If You think IEM is a strict place, unfortunately, UEM is one step ahead.
Do you have a Life?Great, you do No, i wont tell you that there is no life at UEM. Actually, you will start making time for your life more amidst all the assignments you have to submit. This is a place where you can explore yourself (well, atleast 10% of what you thought your college life would be like :p)
Opportunities :More than you can think of, Research and Development Cell, Entrepreneurship-Cell, Spanish Courses, English Clubs and a lot more. I along with some friends represented our University at IIM Calcutta at their E-cell event. There is undoubtedly a plethora of activities. But yes, one thing, keep your studies in check please.
Faculty:You just want to hear that line All the Faculty Members of UEM Kolkata are from IEM. You are just dying to hear it I know. Well let me be clear, All of them? NO! UEM has a lot of teachers from IEM and we do not want to miss any class of them(though we dont ususally have a choice on that :p). But apart from that we have a lot of other faculty members who can teach better than some of the IEM professors( YES I SAID THAT).
Bonus: We have one of the most interacting faculty members at UEM in the CSE department, you will never get bored at any of their classes.
Attendance:Well to be honest, We now realise the seriousness of the words when at the beginning of the year, he said  You need to attend classes so that you can score better. You may think that you can study on your own. But a live lesson from a professor is beyond anything. Now we know( Though Not applicable for all the teachers.) So it is better You keep it well above 80% anyhow.
The class of Students:Mrinmoy Negelhas very freely answered that we wont reach the Class the IEM students have. Ok let me first clear of one thing, we appreciate you having a very good rank in WBJEE, we have been through it and i know how much of work it takes. But please Do not confuse marks and class. Ive been to IEM multiple times for projects, Worked with Multiple seniors from 8 AM to 8 PM during DST Science Camps, and I can say IEMians are very good and talented people. And your answer somewhere takes the respect out of IEMians in general.
At UEM, You will find each one of us having a unique talent here, maybe because we were busy exploring our talent that led to us not having marks enough to join IEM.One of us is a champion Shooter, one is a great painter, one is a great guitarist, one is a great coder, one can solve large mathematics equations without writing it down, one of us is great at singing,one of us is an entrepreneur who already has a startup, one of us has won almost all the first prizes at Logo Designing at almost all the college fests in Kolkata.That is what we callCLASS
The competition:Oh, I was so, so wrong about this one. I did not have a hint about the competition here, but let me tell you, this is a place where you will find competition. I would like to use a phrase that is commonly used by the students of BITS PILANI to describe there college studentsIf you are good at something, keep in mind that there is someone somewhere in the college who is better at it than you.
PLACEMENTS: Oh the10 letterword that you believe decides your future and is the only motivation you will ever study. IEm is onky good for MBA Marketingbecause 100% placements offered. However for Finance, hR and Systems placement near 60%.
Average package is low at 5lpa with cimpanies like Berger, TCs, ITC, PWC as top names.
Overall rankubg wise in top 100 but hasvery few top accreditation and internships opportunities also below average.

Henec overallnot recommended for mBA.
