Hey Gajanan,
To be eligible for admission to various IITs, NITs and GFTIs, students are required to qualify the class 12th examination with minimum 75% marks in total (for general category), 65% marks for SC/ST category. For students appearing under state board, they need to be the top 20 percentile in their respective board.
Remember you may appear the JEE Main/Advanced exam and even secure a very good rank but you will be denied admission if you don't fullfil the 12th percentage criteria. You can again take an improvement exam the succesive year to increase your board marks.
