The classes are known as PEP classes.
Professional Enhancement Programme: The curriculum incorporates specific courses (subjects) under the notion of Professional Enhancement Programmes (PEP) in which the students are prepared to crack the placement processes. PEP classes start right away from the first semester itself in form of Communication Skills and continue till the final semester covering:
Analytical Skills (Logic Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning)
Quantitative Aptitude Skills
Technical Aptitude Skills
Presentations and Soft Skills
Mock Exercises (Mock Interviews, GDs, Mock Tests, etc.)
National Level Benchmark Assessment of students
LPU provides with Personality Enhancement Programme classes where students are trained in aptitude, reasoning, soft skills, interviewing skills, free preparation for govt exams and more, right from the 2nd year till their placements . These classes are meant to train students basically for their placements and for personality development.Trainers work on building students personality,communication skills,interpersonel skills,build up their confindence and highlight their points where they are lacking. Before appearing in interviews through these classes they get exposure to how to crack interviews by appearing in mock drives conducted by LPU.It's great initiative taken by LPU to make their students eligibile and experienced before appearing in interviews.

In-fact it will be wrong to term this as placement training. It is much more than that.
LPU has established a full fledged department by the name of Center for Professional Enhancement, which kicks in early into the program and works on thew students in pretty much whole of the program.
The main points of importance in this center are:

3. Networking skills
4. Cultural sensibilities
5. Ethics and values
6. Corporate etiquette
7. Personal grooming
And much much more.
The center for professional enhancement is instrumental in carving out the well rounded professionals out of raw talent.

Mostly placements trainings classes are long duration because they are more focusing on training their aspirant to crack the interview and its a good sign from any of college . The recruitment drives are a part of campus engagements and are held during the final year. Before that the university provides us skill training, internships and fine-tune's our communication and verbal ability so as to help us make through the recruitment tests.
