Is it worth joining SIBM Nagpur for MBA??
Dear Anurag,
The number of institutes offering the MBA course is overwhelming. However, not all of them can boast about quality. That’ why, you need a reputed institute like the Lovely Professional University to study such advanced course. The institute has an amazing infrastructure with experienced faculty giving holistic education to their students. The placement cell is also well-organized and regularly places their candidates into the biggest names in the corporate world.
I did MBA from LPU and LPU is helping me grow professionally and personally with its career-oriented programs and support.I would say ,The Business School of LPU is accredited from (ACBSP) Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs from the USA ensuring quality education and industry experienced faculties, studying in LPU will get a degree accredited from a body of USA.LPU has recently Marked among Top 50 Best Management Institutes by NIRF ranking 2020. Also, LPU has won National Employability Award 2020.
University have Collaboration/Tie up with the companies like NSE, Safe Educate, ICICI Direct, HDFC, etc. to give students the opportunity for pursuing live projects and/or professional certifications like NCCMP, NCFM etc. Students get opportunity to Industry desired workshops on Digital Marketing, Business Analytics, Stock Market Operations, Life Skills, Creativity and Innovation, and Leadership to make students industry ready.
The university also gives us the opportunity to get real-life exposure through various training programs and an internship, which is mandatory for all. Professors go for value-based education which is something we as professionals would require in our career. Guest lectures by experts and some really successful people are arranged by our department to widen our scope of learning.
Most of faculty members are from IIM or from elite B- Schools (India/Abroad. They have decade of experience. Faculty was really helping. Even they helped her after regular university hours for her projects.
No doubt LPU adopts new technologies faster than others they update their curriculum after each semester by taking feedback from the students and also to meet the latest standards.
If you are concerned about placements. There are plenty of career opportunities after MBA in different sectors of industries like Banking and Finance, Investment Banking, multinationals, foreign banks, public sector undertakings, in effect the whole corporate sector – offer bright opportunities to management graduates. The careers in management offers one of the best remuneration packages and perks everywhere. Many students are placed in reputed companies in different cities and some are placed in abroad too.Top brands like Amazon, Trident, KPMG, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. A new program in tie-up with Talent Edge has been started. This program is having pre-placement offer at the time of Admission (provided student clears the interview).
I Hope this answer will help you take right decision!
Hello Anurag,
It depends actually
.
If you had no calls from any other tier-1 management institute, then yes I would definitely say it is worth joining. I would definitely recommend it over the likes of SCMHRD, IMT G, XIMB and the lot. I think if at all SIBM Pune can be considered to be a tier-2 management institute, it leads the pack. However, if new IIMs give you call, you should not let go of that opportunity.
The final placements for the Class of 2018 were not that bad, to be honest. The average placement stood at over 16 LPA, and the top-100 received an average of 20 LPA. That’s not too bad if you try and ignore the inflated figures and other factors. Also, if you aim to be a Consultant at a top firm (McK, BCG and the lot), that won’t be possible at SIBM. However, if FMCG is where your interests lie, then SIBM Pune is the place for you.
The batch size is relatively small, and the Class of 2020 has an approximate batch size of 195 students (not verified), which is lower than top-ranked colleges like FMS, and the IIMs. There is a lucrative foreign exchange programme as well (which I am assuming is based on your academic performance).
Finally, don’t take my word for it. Do your own research and take decision.
Good luck

Hi Anurag,
SIBM Nagpur has been established only this year and will have its first batch commencing from 1st July. So, the situation becomes something we aren't very sure off. With the Symbiosis tag, the college can do great in terms of placement. They do have good infrastructure and facilities and learned faculty. However, if you have an option to choose from another college with substantial past records, it is always better to go for such options from which we have a clear cut idea.
Hope this helps. All the best.
