is there any risk or problem if i do my btech engineering from LPU as it is not approved by AICTE?
You don’t usually have to worry about approvals if you do CSE from LPU. LPU is recognized by the UGC, and universities set up by an Act don’t need separate AICTE approval for their degree programs.
Your CSE degree will be accepted for placements, further studies, and most competitive exams in India. In this field, your coding skills, projects, and internships matter more than just having the right approvals.
However, if you plan to apply for some government jobs or study abroad, it’s smart to check their specific requirements. Recognition usually isn’t an issue, but your skills are what really count.
There’s actually no risk in pursuing Btech from LPU , and a common misconception is that it isn’t approved by AICTE while in reality, LPU is AICTE approved and also UGC recognized university where its engineering programs are valid and widely accepted, so students don’t face any issues in placements or higher studies. The university offers BTech in multiple specializations like CSE, ECE, Mechanical, Civil, and EEE, giving you plenty of options based on your interest.
Speaking from experience as an alumnus, I’m quite aware of how the system works—one of my close friends is currently pursuing BTech in EEE, and I’ve seen how the program focuses on practical learning, latest technologies, and industry exposure. So honestly, if you’re dedicated to building your skills, there’s no problem at all LPU provides the right platform to grow and build a solid engineering career
LPU is UGC approved well ranked university offered Diploma to doctorate programmes under various streams . AICTE approval is generally not necessary for courses offered by Lovely Professional University (LPU) as it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), with support from Supreme Court rulings. In summary, LPU's status as a university allows them to offer most courses without the need for AICTE approval.
Hi
LPU is much better than any other university. It is a UGC recognized and renowned university and is considered one of the top 5 universities in the country due to its quality of teaching and best location, rich course exhibition and spacious beautiful campus 600 acres to live in with the latest facilities.
According to the law, universities do not need AICTE's approval to conduct their courses. These are institutes affiliated to universities that need to be approved by AICTE. Since LPU is a bona fide university established under state law, it does not require AICTE approval. Universities must be recognized by UGC.

Hi,
LPU does not require AICTE approval.
Lovely Professional University is a university in itself and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission(UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India. AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056 of 1999 titled BHARATHIDASAN UNIVERSITY & ANR. V/S ALL INDIA COUNCIL FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION & ORS, and various other cases.
I hope it helps you!
Thank You!
This college is very good but it's not approved by AICTC If you do B-tech from this college u can't apply for any government jobs
There'll be no problem, if you do b.tech in that. In fact it's the list of best universities in the the India. And we all know that it's having good placement record, good number of PhDs, well structured campus etc..,
All the best. Just do concentrate on btech without any dilemma.
