Is UGC NET Exam really tough? I want to make career in lectureship.

If you are determined enough to make a career in Lectureship, you will definitely clear UGC NET. A focussed study with a dedicated plan will make you ace UGC NET exam. There are two papers in UGC NET. Both the papers are held in online mode. The test for Paper I will be conducted for 50 questions. The questions will be generic in nature and will test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Paper II, however will consist of questions based on the subject selected by you during your application. There will be 100 questions of 2 marks each in Paper II. No negative marks will be cut for wrong answers marked in UGC NET exam.

Yes, the exam is tough, however, many candidates (who have prepared hard for it) make it to the cut off of UGC NET. UGC NET exam includes 2 papers - Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is General Ability Test, held for anaysing the teaching and research ability of the candidates. The paper has 50 objective questions with 2 marks for each questions.

Paper II of UGC NET is held for the particular subject candidates opt for. There are 100 subjects out of which candidates can opt for any one subject they want to take the test in. The paper has 100 questions and candidates will be given 2 marks for each correct answer. The paper has to be completed in 2 hours.

For appearing in UGC NET, you need to have at least 55% aggregate marks in your masters or equivalent (50% for reserved category).

To be consiered eligibile for lecturership, candidates have to secure 40% marks in Paper I and II (35% for reserved category). Apart from this, top 6% candidates are considered eligible for the post of Assistant Professor and JRF. So, you need to be in the top 6% candidates of the exam.

UGC NET for July session was held only for two papers instead of the earlier three. The syllabus of UGC NET 2018 includes topics - General Ability, General Awareness, Comprehension and divergent thinking. UGC NET is one such exam which is considered neither tough nor easy .

Though the career as a lecturer is quite good . There are many people who are not able to clear the exam .

As you know, the UGC NET examination is compulsory for appointment as Assistand Professors in Government colleges and Universities.
