Unfortunately this year, the cutoffs did go quite high, due to a number of reasons
The question paper was supposedly "easier" which meant many people had high scores
There were different question papers for different languages
Also, the age limit for appearing was increased, so around 11lakh candidates appeared for the exam for only 70k seats.
It is difficult to predict next year's cutoffs, but I suggest you be well prepared. Study NCERT thoroughly and practice MCQs

Every exam is different on it's own . We can't compare NEET 2016 with 2017 . And from one single year we can't predict whether it's the paper which did this or competition in increasing .
As for now anything could have happened this year .
This thing is really unpredictable . No one know what will happen next year .

Dear Shivam, you do not have anything to worry about with regard to the increased NEET Cut Off this year. Especially do not compare it to NEET 2016 and get stressed as NEET 2017 was a unique exam on its own. You are infact in a very advantageous position when compared to NEET 2017 candidates, as you now know more or less what to expect next year on the basis of this year's trends and therefore can direct your preparations accordingly. Coming to why NEET 2017 was unique, and why the Cut Offs were higher than expected, there were two main factors responsible for this. One, that NEET 2017 was the first time a single window national level medical entrance exam was held in India for all MBBS and BDS seats, meaning all medical aspirants had to go through a single test to pursue a medical career irrespective of state domicile. 11,38,890 candidates registered for the exam, which was a 71% increase from NEET-1, 2016 and a 140% increase from NEET-2, 2016. A total of 6,11,739 candidates qualified for the exam by securing the minimum category-wise marks. From Uttar Pradesh alonge, 92,748 candidates appeared out of which 34,424 qualified. 1728 of these gained admissions to MBBS courses in Government Medical Colleges in UP. So as you can see, there were significantly more candidates appearing, which increased the level of competition for seats. The second reason for higher Cut Off was that in 2017, medical aspirants knew beforehand that NEET was the only chance for medical admissions unlike in previous years and therefore concentrated their efforts and made preparations accordingly. They however could not rely on the Cut Offs from previous years given the vast difference in number of candidates. Here is where you will have a clear advantage, in terms of having an approximate Cut Off target to aim at. It is expected that around 12-13 lakh candidates will be appearing for NEET 2018. There is a high probability that the Cut Offs will increase slightly, probably by around 10-20 marks or so. If 550 was the last mark at which a candidate secured a seat in UP Government College through NEET 2017, this may go upto 570 or so. Another variable, that of paper difficulty, might also influence this in the end. However, if you target a score of 580+ out of 720, you should ideally stand a strong chance of securing a Government Medical College seat next year. However, bottomline is not to think of Cut Offs or results from previous years too much and only focusing on your preparations as that is the only thing you have complete control over. You have more than 7 months to go till NEET 2018 will be held. Relax, focus fully on your preparations, go through the important topics, take tips from students who successfully cleared NEET 2017 and give your best shot in the examination. The cut-off of neet for a particular state depends upon the difficulty of the paper and the number of participants from your state .
These two variables flucuate each and every year,so no one can predict the exact cutoff
I would suggest you to study hard,practise the important topics in each subject and please do give mock test which will help you to scrutinize your preparation.
