Last year Jadavpur had the closing rank of 173 for CSE department for open category. So, Your friend might get admission offers from Jalpaiguri Govt. Engg. College, Techno India, HIT. A good option would be IT at Jalpaiguri Govt. Engg. College as there is a very good chance of getting admission offer in IT at Jalpaiguri as the last year closing rank was 8587. First of all if you belong to a general category, Then unfortunately you cant get CSE branch in JU.  You can get CSE in other government colleges like Purulia Government Engineering College or Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College or Coochbehar Government Engineering College. Check the previous year cut offs on Careers360 app or in wbjee official site. Do the counseling properly . Best of luck.
