Last year cut off for general category was 560 for Government Medical College under state quota,  559 for obc category, 457 for sc category and 432 for st category.

Dear Mahipal, you havent mentioned your Category. Neverthless, in 2018, under State Quota, the cut offs for various Categories have been as follows:

General Category:  560
OBC: 559
SC: 457
ST: 432

Going by previous cut offs and your score, at 540 it is a tough call if you belong to General and OBC Categories. On the other side you have a fair chance if you belong to SC, ST Categories. Having said that, cut offs change every year and are dependant on various factors like no.of seats availble, no.of candidates appearing for the exam, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam.
