My son got 96.429274 percentile belongs to general category. can he get admission in any NIT colleges ? what is the possibile rank for him?

With this much percentile, you can expect his rank to be around 31000-33000. With this much rank, he has chances of getting a seat in a NIT (chances of getting higher branches are very less for General category candidates).
