Other state domicile candidate application submit?
Hello Suresh,
Considering your query is about admission to MBBS course in medical colleges of Maharashtra, admission is done on the basis of score in the NEET UG entrance exam.
Only three national level examinations are conducted for Undergraduate medical entrance- NEET-UG, AIIMS UG and JIPMER UG. No state level examinations are conducted.
Since you are seeking admission in Maharashtra, you will have to understand about the NEET UG exam, admission process, and Eligibility criteria.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET-UG entrance exam is conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses. It is a National level exam conducted annually. NEET 2019 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) and is mandatory for admissions in any institution in any state.
As per the NEET UG admission criteria, there are 15% All India Quota seats and 85% State Quota seats in all Government medical and dental colleges across the country. Candidates from all over India are eligible to apply for All India Quota seats and for 85% state quota seats, every state declares its own eligibility criteria for admission. Some states require candidates to have passed class 11th and 12th from the state like Delhi and some states require the candidate to be a domicile of the state. Eligibility Criteria varies from state to state.
There are Government Colleges, Private Colleges, Central and Deemed Universities for admission to Medical/Dental Seats.
Government Colleges- As I have already mentioned that there are 15% AIQ seats and 85% state quota seats for admission to Government colleges.
Private Colleges- In private colleges there are Government seats (only candidates belonging to the state and fulfill the state eligibility criteria can apply for government seats),
Private seats- Candidates from other states are also eligible for admission to private seats in almost all the states. However, some states like Maharashtra does not allow admission to other state candidates.
Central/ Deemed Universities- Candidates from All over India can apply for admission to the Deemed and Central Universities. Some Central Universities also have internal quota.
Now, Eligibility Criteria for admission to MBBS/BDS course in Maharashtra is as follows-
For admission to state quota seats in Maharashtra, candidates should have the domicile certificate of the state. Also, candidates should have completed Classes 10 and 12 from the state. If you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria, you cannot apply for state quota seats.
Other state students can apply only for 15% All India Quota seats in Government Medical Colleges of Maharashtra. For 15% All India Quota seats, Medical Counselling Committee(MCC) is the counseling conducting Authority. You will have to register with MCC for admission.
If you are seeking admission in some other medical course like B.Pharm, admission to the course is done on the basis of Common Entrance Test (CET) and All India candidates are eligible to appear for the entrance test and qualify the exam for admission.
Do let us know if you have any other query.
