UPSC Civil Services is a national level examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission for recruitment for the post of IPS ( Indian Police Service ) examination. The IPS Service is divided into various departments such as Crime Branch, crime investigation department, etc.

Eligibility criteria required:

Physical-

• Minimum height for men should be 165cm and for women 150cm. There is relaxation in height for candidates belonging to Reserved categories.
• Minimun chest girth- Men 84cm and women 79cm
  
• Spectacles are permitted, Presence of squint is a disqualification, Myopia should not exceed -4.00D

Educational-

• You must possess Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised organistaion.

Age-

• Minimum age limit is 21 years and maximum 32 years as on August 1 of year of recruitment. Relaxation in age is provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Examination pattern- The examination is conducted in three stages:

Priliminary exam, which consists of 2 papers of 200 marks each. It is an objective type examination.

Mains exam, candidates who qualify preliminary exam would be eligible for Mains exam,

and then Interview.

Total marks of mains exam and interview will be calculated to declare the final result.
