Hello Vaibhav,
Well after JEE Mains, the qualified candidates are given colleges like NITs,IIITs,GFTIs on the basis of counselling which is done by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). JoSAA counducts a total of seven round of counselling through which candidates are given seats in colleges as per their merit. After the JEE Main results, the candidate has to register for JoSAA counselling so that he/she is eligible to take part in the counselling proccess. Below I have provided the JoSAA counselling procedure -
- Step 1 : Registration - The candidates have to register for JoSAA by logging into their accounts through JEE Main roll number and password.
- Step 2 : Choice filling and locking - After registration, the candidates have to choose their prefered college and branch. After choosing they have to lock their choices.
- Step 3 : Seat Allotment : The authorities will allot seats to the candidates on the basis of merit, preferences, category and availability of seats.
- Step 4 : Downloading seat allotment letter & payment of fee - The candidates have to download their provisional seat allotment letter and also have to pay the required fee to accept the seat.
- Step 5 : Reporting at centres : The candidates who have been allotted seats have to report to their respective reporting centres for document verification. Candidates have to provide both original and photocopies of the required documents.
- Step 6 : Confirmation of admission - Candidates lastly have to physically report to the allotted institutes for confirmation of admission and have to the required fee.
