SC cut off in cat exam
Answer (1)
For every college there is different CAT percentile cut off. After the CAT exam every college in which you have applied including IIMs prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview and WSAT which is based on your aggregate score which comprises of many factors such as CAT marks, 10th 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non engineer, gender and extra curriculars with different weightages for different colleges.
There is no fixed cut off for any IIM but on the basis of few last year data, for top 3 IIMs like IIM A, B and C SC category cut off is 92+ percentile for getting a call but in order for conversion 95+ percentile is good. For other old IIMs like IIM L, K and I 85+ percentile for getting a call is good but again 90+ percentile is good for conversion. And with 80+ percentile you can get calls from all new IIMs.
But as I said earlier CAT marks is not enough plus there are some IIMs like IIM Bangalore which gives more weightage to work experience and IIM Indore which gives more weightage to academic records even more than CAT marks.
For FMS you can get a call with 85+ percentile but as CAT marks weightage is 85 percent so aim for 90+ percentile so that with only 7-8 marks out of 15 you can get selected. With 90+ percentile you can also get call from JBIMS, Mumbai and with 85+ percentile you can also get from IITs.
All the best!!
