Sir i am serving in Indian Army. I would like to admission for LLB. Please provide me details of fee structure and minimum attendance.
Greetings,
If you wish to pursue LLB then you must hold a graduate degree in any field. Further, admission to this course is on the basis of entrance exam that is conducted by various law colleges every year. The fee structure per semester ranges from 15000 to 50000 INR which depends on the basis of state or private colleges and the minimum attendance is 75% which gets relaxed to 70%. You can get further admission related information on the following link- https://law.careers360.com/colleges/ranking
Dear Diwan ,
Glad to know that you are serving the nation in Indian Army. As you told that you’re interested in pursuing an LLB programme, can I ask you a question? What made you go for an LLB degree? Please answer this query so that I can help you better.
Coming straightway to your query. Since you’re a graduate as I assume from the education level provided by you, a three-year LLB programme will be good for you.
You can pursue the LLB programme from any of the National or State Universities offering the programme at their Department of Law. I will also list here some of them along with their entrance-ways. Unfortunately, most of these law schools/departments/institutions have closed their admission window. Therefore, you will need to wait for the next admission season, i.e, 2019-20 for the 3-year LLB applications.
Some of the institutions offering the 3-year LLB programme are–
Delhi University, Faculty of Law – Admissions through DU LLB Entrance Examination
Panjab University, Faculty of Law – Admissions through PU LLB Entrance (Panjab University LLB Entrance Examination)
Banaras Hindu University, Department of Law – Admissions through BHU LLB Entrance Examination
Allahabad University, Faculty of Law – Admissions through LAT (Allahabad University LLB Admission Test)
Cochin University of Science & Technology, Department of Law – Admissions through CUSAT CAT LLB
Besides these, there are over 200 law colleges in Maharashtra offering the LLB programme. A common entrance examination, MH CET LLB is conducted for admissions to these Maharashtra state law colleges.
Coming to the next part of your query, the fee structure and attendance rules.
The application fee for almost each of these law entrance examinations range between Rs.150 and Rs.500. The course fees for the three-year LLB programme range between Rs.3500 and Rs.8000, depending on the law schools you prefer.
Since LLB is a professional-degree programme, the Bar Council of India, the regulatory body for Indian legal education, has made the programme a regular-one, which means attendance is mandatory. Depending on the law college, the required minimum attendance can be between 65% and 75%. Further, the mandatory attendance is also because of the course-curriculum and programme structure including moot courts, internships, etc.
I hope this answers your query. Further, if there is something else with which I can help you out, feel free to counter question me. Also answer my query, so that I can help you better.
Till then, keep asking questions as it helps you in clarifying your doubts.
All the best!
Thank you.
