see cutoff score changes every year and it depends on some of the factors like number of applicants, students category, choice of stream and so on. gate score is valid for three years, however since your 2020 score is higher then 2021 you should apply using 2020 gate score.

For applying for admission through GATE you must use the latest score as in case of multiple attempts , the latest attempt is considered. That is your last year's score of 490 with rank 4720 isn't applicable. You must use this year's score of 464 with rank 3540.
