Don't Miss: NIRF DU Colleges Ranking
Hey Aryan,
The BAMS (Bachelors in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is a 5 and a ½ year's undergraduate course which comes under Faculty of Ayurvedic & Unani Medicines in University of Delhi. The cut-off marks are based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG score.
Since you did not mention whether you have 85% Delhi quota or All India 15% quota, cut-offs for both the cases has been provided. The cut-offs for the year 2017-18 are-
1. For OBC (15% AIQ)
• 526-opening rank in the 1st merit list
• 320-closing rank in the 3rd merit list
2. For OBC (85%DQ)
• 526-opening rank in the 1st merit list
• 421- closing rank in the 5th merit list
In 2018, merit list was not released rather a tentative list was released in which OBC candidates (DQ) starting with 503 marks in NEET-UG registered for BAMS. While for AIQ candidates, the list started with 531 marks. And only 2 counseling have been held.
The merit list is prepared on the basis of NEET score. Accordingly, a candidate is also given a rank, for example, the one with 531 marks has rank 1 in OBC merit list of candidates under 15% AIQ for BAMS.
It is important that you register on official FMSC site once your results of NEET are announced and the online-registrations window for counseling is opened because even if you score required marks but you did not register, you will become ineligible. Since you are asking about reserved category merit, you also need to have the OBC certificate to prove your status. For more information about these criterions, refer to the BOI that is released during the time of admission at the official site.
As you can infer from the above data, the marks range for general and OBC category is almost the same because Ayurveda is one of the most popular Indian medical degrees. Remember BAMS is generally the first one to be filled among BAMS, BHMS and BU MS. Hence, you can prepare accordingly for NEET, keeping in mind what kind of marks you need to score to get a seat. Even if you score in between 480-550, you have plenty of chance to get admitted.
I hope I was able to answer your question. If you want any other information, feel free to ask or comment.
All the best!
