What is stand alone University?

Firstly, Stand Alone is not a university it's a institution. So the question is, what is it?
WHAT IS STAND ALONE INSTITUTION: -
. There are many institutions which are not affiliated to any universities but are recognized by various counsils or ministers. For the purpose of this Servey, these institution are referred as Stand-Alone institution.
Stand-Alone institution is categorized into 5 categories as follows: -
Type 1- Diploma level technicals Institute such as polytechnics, which are generally recognized by AICTE and administrate by state Directorate of technical education.
Type 2-Diploma Level Teacher Training Institute include DITEs recognized by NCTE and generallu registered by SCERT.
Type 3- Diploma Level Nursing Institutes recognized by INC and generally administered by State Nursing Council.
Type 4- Post Graduate Diploma In Management (PGDM) recognized by AICTE.
Type 5- Institution running mainly diploma/ PG diploma level programs and directly regulated/ administered by Central Ministries.

there are some institutions which are not actually affliated by universities but are recognised by various councils and ministers. These institutions are known as stand alone universities. This is done for survey. And these universities are further categorised into 5 categories.
