What is the criteria of getting NIT,IIIT,etc after giving JEE mains ? what if I do not give JEE advance and still can get admission in the above mentioned collages with just passing in JEE mains ?
Hello,
To get admission in IITs, NITs or GFTIs you need to score 75% marks if you belong to general category and 65% marks if you belong to SC/ST in 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Admission in IITs is based on merit in JEE Advanced.Candidates who qualify in JEE Main are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced.Through JEE Main merit you can get admission in NITs, GFTIs and other private colleges/universities accepting JEE Main score. So if you do not appear in JEE Advanced after qualifying JEE Main you can still get seat in NITs or GFTIs.
Admission in NITs and IIITs is based on JEE Main score. You'll have to appear in JOSAA counseling for getting admission in them. If you don't give JEE Advanced then you'll loose the chance to get admission in IITs but you still are eligible to get admission in NITs and IIITs.
