The SET or State Eligibility Test is similar to NET in pretty much all aspects other than the fact that SET is reserved for that particular State only as compared to NET which applies to the entire country.

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national level examination conducted by NTA to select candidates for only Assistant Professor, or both Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Assistant Professor in Indian Universities and colleges.
Whereas, State Eligibility Test (SET) is conducted in different states to select candidates for lectureship in that particular State only.
