First of all let's consider All India Quota, out of 15 % seats around 9% seats are for general category. And if you come under state quota of maharastra, around 50% seats come in general category where obc is around 20% and SC around 14% ,ST 6 %.
SO there are almost half seats for general category students in open .If seats are surrendered,they are generally considered in general category.
