What percentile do I need to get into new iims? Are new iims good as older ones?

95+ if you are a fresher and 90+ if you have a good work ex can get you an interview shortlist for a new IIM. But they are not comparable to the old IIMs in any way. The placements at old IIMs are better than the new ones. The new IIMs have some ground to catch but they are growing at a fast pace. While getting into a baby IIM is not advisable if you have shortlists from SPJAIN, SIBM etc, new IIMs are doing okay. All the new ones are no longer under any old IIM and have their own placement committee and independent placements. The baby ones are however under other IIMs. So they trade off is for you to make. Certainly SPJAIN, MDI, SIBM etc are better off than the new IIMs.

For getting admission in new IIMs you need to atleast score 95+percentile and honestly they are growing up but are not at all good as old IIMs in any respect. Every new IIM is guided by one of the old IIMS and it will take a few years to establish themselves equivalent to old IIMs.
If you have an opportunity to go into private colleges like SP Jain, Narsee Monjee, Symbiosis then you should prefer them becuase they are reputated and more established then new IIM in all respect.
All the best!
