The changes in rank occurs after the April exam is completely dependent on how you perform that attempt. It doesn't have much connections with January scores as best of the two attempts will be taken into consideration. So prepare well and do well in second attempt then if you have good scores your rank will increase further. But it also depends on how other students perform too.

The changes which will happen after the April Examination can only be predicted no one can surely say that how the ranks are going to increase or decrease.

Mostly it happens that the students appearing in the April examination increase as the board exams are over and now more students are prepared for the exam as they have no tension of boards. Everyone who wishes to do engineering or architecture degree gives this exam.

Last year's increase was about 25 - 30%. Now if these year students giving the April attempt will be 20% more than the students who gave January attempt than the ranks will decrease by 20%.

AIR 2917 can probably decrease to AIR 5000-8000.

These ranks are only probable and as these only depend on the no. of students giving the exam.
