    What are aldehydes and how do they differ from ketones?

    Aldehydes are organic compounds containing a carbonyl group attached to at least one hydrogen atom. They have the general formula RCHO, where R can be a hydrogen atom or a carbon chain. Ketones, on the other hand, have the carbonyl group located between two carbon atoms and follow the general formula RC(=O)R'.
