Hello Kaja Maiden,

Yes, you do have to complete MBBS to become an opthalmologist. Not only you have to complete MBBS but also have to study MS/MD in opthalmology. You can choose your specialization right after 4 and a half year of MBBS and become an opthalmologist after possessing a master's degree in apthalmology.
