Will I have to take a private tutor for studying in jadavpur university if I take civil or mechanical engineering?

It depends on you whether you have to take private tutions or not because as far as i have heard the faculty is really very good there and knowledgable as also the class strength is less so they will concentrate on every student,so you may not get a situation of going to a private tutor.

You don't have to take a private tutor. They have a very good academics and the placements are also very good for the core branches.

But even then if you feel the need for classes you can check out the NPTEL website. They have lectures from the faculty of IITs and is very helpful.
