yes, you have to start your preparation for gate from first year gate is not easy and if you are preparing from first year then you doesn't face any problem in future.gate cut-off is also high and to get admission in good colleges your gate score must be good.you have to remember all semester's subject at last which is not possible.so, prepare it now.
