Dear Student,
Thanks for writing to us. We will try our level best to answer your query. It's good to see your interest in Btech and that too in Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Engineering. We will answer in different parts:-
What is Mechanical Engineering?
Its a professional programme helping students understand the working mechanism of heavy tools and machines. It requires principles of engineering, physics, and material science. This course also involves manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems.
What is Automobile Engineering?
Its part of Mechanical Engineering.
Eligibility Criteria:-
Need to pass Class XII in Science stream with minimum 50% marks or equivalent. You may have to sit for Engineering entrance Exams also. But it depends.
Scope:-
Recruiters:-
Tata Steels Ltd., Outotec Oyj, BHEL, ONGC, Mahindra Group including many PSU's.
Placements:-
First of all its right that placement is important to judge a college. But don`t go by that follow which is more important is the learning if you didn't learn well then you will get no placement even in IITs. So prepare yourself such as no company will dare to reject you instead they will offer you the Highest package. Keep learning, you can also think of GATE. Any reputed and good college can acquire comapnies for the placements.but that entirely depends on your potential and caliber.
And if you don't belong to the upper tier colleges like IIT, NIT, BITS, SRM, JU you may find it hard to get placed in big core companies. You may get placed in any small or medium industries. But don't waste your time thinking of not getting a good company initially. Please treat that as your training period before joining any established company. For getting there you need experience which you can gather from these industries. Things will be going to be smooth there for you.
Modern Scenario:-
Today it will be hard for freshers to enter any core firm. People will be running behind you grabbing the only opportunity. So you can understand how tough the competition is. Candidates fighting for placements is very much high. So you need to be unique among them to raise your own personality that companies hire you. They need professionals who are experienced enough to handle their company.
Preparation:-
Many students don't have the proper knowledge of campus placement.so you need to be aware what happens there. Accordingly, you need to prepare yourself. you can improve your communication skill in the meantime and learn any PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE just as an extra qualification. Keep faith in yourself all will be good. Keep your spirit high!

Hello nitish..
mechanical engineering is the one of the best branch/discipline under engineering stream which will have scope in industry forever.so its good that whatever the course you gonna do with mechanical engineering.but my suggestion is you can go with mechanical with automotive engineering.i hope it will rule the industry in future.final decision is upto you. To view future growth in our country, all the three branches are going to be good in terms of placement. As there are several scheme of government which supports the mechanical engineering branch. As with growing population and increasing time , resource utilisation mechanical engineering with automation is best branch in terms of placement in private sector.Mechanical engineering with energy seems little less in terms of other two branches as government is shifting the energy sector from conventional ways to reusable source of energy which reducing jobs after intialisation.
